This is exactly what happens when no one is being vetted upon entering the country. No background check, health check, nothing. We will be hearing plenty of other stories like this.

What do you expect if you let in people from all over the world without checking their health status?

“A group of people” “staying at a hotel” “developing country” - notice there’s not a hint of outrage or any negative connotations regarding this situation!

If officials did not disclose the name of the hotel. They should be put in jail for endangering the public.

I got fired from the hospital because I wouldn't take the covid shot. Now we have millions pouring in zero, requirements. Now 70% of my patients here in small town Utah are newly arrived from the southern border. Very sick people and they use the ER as their primary health care providers. The cost of their healthcare alone is massive. Who is paying for this?

Let's not give the hotel's name and location. That's real f'n smart 😏

This is Outrageous! Why report the Outbreak if you’re not going to tell the citizens of Long Beach what Hotel and more about where the individuals sick came from! It’s not like anyone is asking their names. These individuals all need to be in Quarantine along with anyone who has had contact with them.

There's no way they'll know everyone who was exposed if they're only contacting other hotel guests. What about any Lyft or Uber drivers, food delivery people who might have been exposed, public transportation exposed people could have taken, unregistered guests because people do sneak in extra guests. I really wish they would disclose the hotel and dates of exposure.

Why would there be a TB outbreak in Los . . . . oh, right, never mind.

For those wondering, per the Long Beach dept of health memo, the hotel is an (SRO) single room occupancy hotel. Which means it’s a small, private hotel that is for adults 18yrs and over that are low income, formerly homeless, have mental health issues, recovering addicts. These hotels have case management services. The city of Long Beach has several of these near to the downtown area. So it’s not like it’s one of the big hotel chains that are near the shoreline. I am a nurse and had to provide case management services for a time period at one of these SROs. Most of the people in that small building were formerly homeless and mentally ill. The buildings were apartments at one time and the city purchased them to provide housing for homeless. The media really needs to provide the full story to the public when they put out reports so they don’t scare the general public.

Did she say we have a lot of people coming from developing countries? That’s a laugh, they aren’t developing.

I love how they had to get an Indian Dr to explain the situation to us because a white Dr blaming a disease outbreak on immigrants isn’t PC enough for “the news”.

I caught TB while I was in the 7th grade and I had never been out the country at that point. My dad had caught it while at work at a warehouse. We had to take antibiotics for over a year and now will always have it dormant in my system. Not sure where the people are from who had it but I hope people at the hotel that work and stayed at the same time have been notified

I’m a former first responder and currently a biotech scientist. Whenever we suspected a patient of having TB, we had to gown and mask up (goggles too). I’m against mask mandates in general (COVID), but why is this not even suggested? Not even for those who live closely with suspected TB carriers? 🤷‍♀️ What am I missing?

These “emergencies” are looking pretty intentional to me.

I remember needing to be screened for TB before immigrating to the US back in 1995. I had to be treated before coming.
