The Awadh Dynasty (also spelled Oudh) was a prominent Muslim dynasty that ruled the region of Awadh (modern-day Uttar Pradesh, India) from the mid-18th century until its annexation by the British in 1856. The dynasty was founded by Saadat Ali Khan I in 1722, who was appointed the first Nawab of Awadh by the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah. The region became one of the most prosperous and culturally vibrant centers in northern India.

What a beautiful well researched well made documentary, thanks a lot for sharing this, i've learned so much, thanks again from Pune, Maharashtra, India. There was one more state which was ruled by Shia Ismailis, they were brahmins who converted to Ismaili Islam, the Sultanate of Ahmednagar.
