Access to diabetes care - If not now, when?

People with diabetes require ongoing care and support to manage their condition and avoid complications. 100 years after the discovery of insulin, millions of people with diabetes around the world cannot access the care they need.

Fundamental components of diabetes care include insulin and oral medicines, self-monitoring, education and psychological support and access to a healthy diet and opportunities to exercise.

For WorldDiabetesDay this November, the International Diabetes Federation is calling on national governments to provide the best possible care for people living with diabetes and develop policies to improve diabetes screening and type 2 diabetes prevention, especially among young people.
