1. It won’t fall off your brush like regular toothpaste, 2. You can put only what you need in a pillbox for travel which takes up less space, 3, the Weldental brand is completely recyclable packaging including outer packaging, 4. You can drink something like OJ after brushing and not have the taste ruined by toothpaste taste, 5. It looks aesthetically nicer on the bathroom counter, 6. You won’t have a gunny tube or lose the cap. Those are just a few quick reasons I love this particular brand.

Protip: put the tab directly on your molar and chew. Dont mash it all over you mouth. Just bite down til its pulverized into a paste. Then wet your toothbrush and then brush with the paste you created.

1) Tablets for backpacking! Light and compact. 2) sustainable: The jars are supposed to be reusable, refill bags are compostable and you just refill the jar. 3) agree, the texture is weird when we are all used to paste, but not a deal breaker. 4) I’m interested in the hydroxyapatite results.

I think the zero waste / reusable approach is the whole reason why people want to use toothpaste tablets. It has nothing to do with convenience. Most brands offer compostable bags so you don't have to buy the glass jar over and over again, you just reuse the first jar.

You are not supposed to rinse nHAP toothpaste from your teeth, you are supposed to let the residue sit on your teeth (ideally avoid any drinking for 15 mins). I like the Bite toothpaste bit tablets for brushing on the go (super handy if you are doing Invisalign) because you can just keep a few in a tiny container like they are little mints, I also like to chew them and swish the foam as impromptu mouthwash. Technically you don’t even need to spit out nHAP, so if you are somewhere like a movie theater or a bus/train/plane with unusable bathrooms, you can do a quick brush or swish and swallow (then if brushing just rinse your toothbrush when you can make it to a sink).

Hey! This is unrelated but I’m trying to decide between a Goby and an Oral B. Which is more effective at cleaning and gum care, in your opinion?

I got a jar about 10 years ago at a dental convention. It was very weird to use. I can see that traveling it would take up less space.

More sustainable. Packaging can be recycled in ways toothpaste tubes usually can't.
And rinsing after brushing?! 🤔

I'm considering this as a more affordable option for a nano-HAp toothpaste. I LOVE Boka... But it's expensive. Apaguard, David's, Roswell... All about $12 to $15 a tube. Dr Collins is good (since starting on it, my soft-enameled son has had NO cavities this entire year) but it's not real nano hydroxyapatite and doesn't help with sensitivity on my teeth like Boka did. (And doesn't whiten as well, my daughter says) so, eco friendly is nice and all, but honestly, it's the price that has me intrigued. For the cost difference (if it really works), we can get used to the "weird" part of the experience 😀

Wait did you say you need to rinse your mouth after you brush?

Take care of your teeth !🌹

I just tried toothpaste tablets for the first time today, and agree with your assessment. 😁 I only tried them because they were the only "toothpaste" with nano-hydroxyapatite that could get here the soonest.... The toothpaste (Boca) will take half a month to deliver, lol.

Anyway! I'm going to be trying these for a little while. They're very appealing to the #ZeroWaste crowd.

I also use fluoride toothpaste.

Cheers!
