Traditionally QGroundControl has been the primary ground control station (GCS) software for drone development. This is in large part due to the up front cost of developing a desktop based GCS. In recent years the performance of web browsers has increased significantly to keep up with modern consumer needs. This has been accompanied by easier methods to create websites, huge investment into open source web libraries, and many front end, back end, and full stack developers who can work with this architecure. In this session we will briefly discuss our web application architecture and REST APIs before creating front end and back end servers able to display a simple web page that can arm, takeoff, land, and disarm a drone in the Gazebo (or JMavSim) simulator.

As presented during the PX4 Developer Summit 2022 in Austin, Texas.
