Building A Spitfire Cockpit To Train The Next Air Aces

Once hailed as the king of the skies, the Spitfire become known as a symbol of victory.

Today technology has moved on, and modern fighter aircraft cost millions of pounds, and employ several computer systems to fly.

Well engineers at the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum were set the task of building a Spitfire cockpit, as close to the real thing as possible, but with a distinctly modern twist.

Our reporter Richard Stringer, visited the museum to find out how using some original parts and technical know-how, this aircraft will take to the skies, without ever leaving the ground.
