MUNTER RETRIEVABLE REDIRECT

Показать описание
The MUNTER RETRIEVABLE REDIRECT is an SRT redirect that is remotely set-able and retrievable in-tree. It uses only the climb-line and does not use ANY extra gear. So, it's always available. The Munter Redirect is based upon a Munter hitch so that is cinches the redirect and shares some load with the TIP. Since the MUNTER RETRIEVABLE REDIRECT cinches it can even be used on a vertical stem where no branch union is available.

CAUTION: There are a few subtleties that take some practice. So, practice it on the ground a few times first. *LOW&SLOW*!

THIS VIDEO IS A DEMONSTRATION -- NOT AN INSTRUCTION.
This trick is very easy to use but very easy to mess-up. So, be careful. -- If you want to try it, try it Low & Slow. -- Be Safe! The MUNTER RETRIEVABLE REDIRECT does NOT depend on any slip-knot or toggle. So, as with most safe redirects, it does require three lengths of rope for the range of the redirected travel. If it is Tied, Dressed, and Set just right; it will pull-out easily.

perfect video! so clear with no words spoken!
I see a lot of people trying to do the whole narrative-less, music in background instructional video thing... and rarely are they as informative as this!

thank you for taking the time!

I love the simplicity, but I question the amount of rope friction put on that one point on the rope from pulling through and retrieving.

This is really nice and simple, JB. I can surely use it. Thanks for posting!

I tried this redirect and really like it. The only downside that I see is that it takes a fair amount of rope to do the retrieval, which can be a problem. Did you invent this one JB? I will be teaching it to my students and want to make sure I give credit where credit is due.

I would love to see a video of that set remotely ... can't wrap my head around how that would be (reasonably) possible

What are you using on your hitch I heard Richard Mumford mention it in one of his videos and searched all of videos but I can't find anything that mention rubber tubing. What type, it purpose etc?
