Brexit Problems With the Irish Sea Border

In order to remove the backstop, and keep his no deal Brexit alive, Boris Johnson moved the border from within Ireland to within the UK in his withdrawal agreement. This could now lead to the selling off of the NHS, lower of food standards, and nobody even seems to know how the border will work.

Being a Greek, I thought we were the screw-ups. But ooh boy, roughly 50% of the UK population (over 3 times Greece's) is far, far worse! It honestly saddens me.

Brexit is a british solution to a non existent problem. The less this affects us the better. Sort yourselves out Britain.

10 years from now; Ireland rejoined, Scotland is full member of the EU, and what used to be UK will become the 51th state of the USA so they finally have that free trade.

It would be the Tories who break up the NHS. It was always going to be them.

Phil should be essential viewing for all. The one place to find sound information and he's always been right at every stage of this process. An amazing teacher with no political bias.

As someone that doesn’t follow the Daily Mail agenda, I really don’t see the advantage of Brexit.

the more I understand about the underlying motives of brexit, the more terrifying it becomes. Farrage is already advocating an American style insurance system

I love the way all the union loving Tory MPs who were supporting the DUP have ditched them overnight.

You're right about one thing, yes, the Irish are happy because it's a fair and just deal. A border in Ireland is the greatest threat to peace and stability. A Loyalist veto is the second biggest threat.
Yes, it's true the Irish lobby in the USA (bigger than most think) would have stymied any deal with the UK which included a border within Ireland.
Yes, the Irish are fed up with the border across our country being controlled by the British.
Yes, the Irish (North and South) don't want Brexit. Things were going well and we had peace and prosperity without the border. It's not even about a united Ireland, it's about no border.
It's absolutely true that the British politicians who waffle on about Ireland have no idea about Irish history or Irish attitudes today.
We want a good relationship with GB. We are friends of England and want to continue being so.
We are full and convinced nembers of the EC and no one should be surprised that the EU supports us and the peace process.

Look on the bright side, the independent Kingdom of Scotland will probably have a common travel area with NI anyway.

For anyone who thinks American standards can't be all that bad, check out the channel "Ring of Fire" and see what those standards mean to consumer rights.

Love how the DUP thought Brexit was going to separate the North further from the South and now the plan has blown up in their faces. The good thing about this is, if there's another public vote on this deal probably about 100% of NI will vote to remain (providing no-dead isn't on the ballot).

0:48 I think saying the Republic is "delighted" by this is wrong. Relieved is far more accurate. Brexit hangs over everything like a dark cloud. If this deal goes through people at least feel they won't wake up to the daily horror of border shootings. No deal is another kind of horror, lots of people in the Republic have no-deal stashes ready for food and medecine.
The idea of United Ireland is nice to think for many, but in practice everyone would be much happier just to maintain status quo ante. There is also some disquiet that NI may attract investment that would otherwise go South. NI is a cheaper place to hire so if it becomes the only place in UK to remain in the Customs Union it could be an attractive place to invest. Most Unionists are happy enough with this fudge too. Only the DUP is unhappy and they are going to get hammered come election time for being so stupid.

If the NHS is put up for sale, there will be serious civil unrest. To be a US 51st state does not appeal to me. Goodbye UK! Good video Phil!

Johnson got a deal for the small price of giving up Northern Ireland. Why is the DUP upset? Did they really believed the Tories care for them?

I’ve skim read through the bill. It allows government to alter some things at will without Parliament.
The Cato Institute which was co-authored by Daniel Hannan has said everything about what is acceptable to both the USA and U.K. for a deal.
This will then ensure that it is essential to fail to agree with any eu trade agreement either now or after the transition period.
Barclay has conceded that there must be checks between ni and gb in a committee hearing.

The rhetoric of Johnson's last stand has buggered everyone including civil servants paid by the taxpayer to spin their masters' hyperbole of the day.
Between Murdoch's media and this the fake news is peddled to scare people.

Johnson be gone.
