How Far Can I Get In Contra Without Dying?

I love Contra but I am terrible at it. I really need some practice.

My favorite game. I could usually beat it without a single death. Once I beat it with the pea shooter. It’s hard to take out the bosses with the pea shooter but it’s also very difficult to avoid some of the guns.

I used to complete this game without dying (I was a kid), but after watching this I decided to play and oh boy it's so hard (managed to complete it with 12 deaths).

I have actually beat it once with dying. It was kind’ve a progression. I grew up always playing it with the code and one day, I got it in my head that I wanted to beat it without the code. Took me awhile, but I did it. Then I decided to see if I could beat it without using a continue. Took awhile, but I did it. Then of course, came the challenge of beating it without dying. It took me many, many, many attempts (with several of them ending up with a death at the heart), but finally, one glorious day, I did it. I have thus far been unable to replicate that accomplishment, but I still try from time to time to do it again.

This is way too easy compared to other NES games. Not a hard game at all once you learn the patttern and learn to deal with the randomness of some areas and levels. But definitely one of the most awesome game in history

I could beat this game without continuing or without the 30 life code.
I could usually make it up to stage 5 without dying.
Stage 6 was usually my first death.

I have beaten this game several times and it's not as hard as people say. I have a saved game emulation where I beat it hunderdsof times in a row without dying. It maxes out at 99 lives and the more times you beat it, the higher the number of points required for a one up is. Eventually you can only get one 1up per one time you beat the game and it starts spawning tons more enemies to the point of lag at times. I have it saved on the Japanese NES version, which is a bit harder than the American version, with maxed out 99 lives. Beating it without dying really isn't hard after you've been playing it for 40 years, lol. It's probably my favorite game!

I have finished the game twice without dying. I never found this game hard. My friends would struggled, but for me it just came natural.

I beat Contra back when it came out.. I could not beat Dragon Warrior or Double Dragon. However, my son bought a Game Genie and ive beaten most of the games I couldnt way back in the day.. 👍👍
