As an Aussie i only learnt about why it's done earlier this year. I was oblivious to the pesticide protection and reduced rott. All of the resins help to cure the timber to make it more durable.

My boyfriend built a bed for my truck just like this when I was 20 yrs old. I'm 64 now lol
I had forgotten all about this. It was a Chevy and had a utility bed that I sold off of it and needed just a regular bed.
