L.A. Confidential!! first rate all around… screenplay, direction, acting, cinematography, set design, costume design, etc.

Great list though! Thanks!

Great list. I would also add Jacob's Ladder (1990).

So many on this list I discovered the past few years! Unpopular opinion: I love "Dark City" way more than "The Matrix". 💯

Rauj Julia in Presumed Innocent is so amazing. 12 Monkeys is such a great movie. Really enjoyed this.

Thank you for including '12 Monkeys' and 'Dark City'. Both are amazing films, along with several others you mention, but these are my personal favorites.

Thank you for talking about 12 monkeys. One of my favorite movies of all time. A movie that gets better with rewatches too.

I'd have to give Perfect Blue my #1 spot for this list

Excellent list. I'm always happy to see Dark City getting the credit it deserves. I'd maybe add Ronin and Miller's Crossing. Maybe those two don't entirely fit your criteria, but they're good/great adult-thrillers from the 90s.

reversal of Fortune (1990)
House of Games (87)

As soon as I started watching this video, I thought of A Simple Plan and The Spanish Prisoner. They are such great films, and I'm glad they are mentioned here. I really enjoyed the previous video about The Game as well. The only one left for me to mention is my favorite film; Eyes Wide Shut.

Was extremely pleased to see Sam Raimi’s “A Simple Plan” on here. That movie is criminally overlooked. I love how we slowly learn, along with Paxton’s character, the family history and how it shaped both his and his brother’s lives. If you want to see great acting, watch Billy Bob Thornton in this, “Sling Blade”, and “One False Move”. That guy was a boss in the 90s!

Nice video. I like the Game and Primal Fear quite a bit. Deep Cover is a classic too.
Here’s a list of 10 moody adult thrillers from the 90’s I enjoy. Allot of them are Neo Noir as there seem to be so many in that decade. Not exactly obscure films but they’re slightly below the mainstream surface.

Lone Star
Breakdown
One False Move
Jacobs Ladder
State of Grace
Miami Blues
After Dark My Sweet
Internal Affairs
The Crying Game
Jade ( not a great film but William Friedkins best 90s effort with a great car chase RIP)

You really love your Hitchcock, lol. Nice list and I also really like The Last Seduction as a great thriller of the ‘90s. Red Rock West is another awesome thriller with John Dahl directing

Let me add my love for "Dark City", a very underrated film that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
