Melodyne for the blind: Selecting blobs with the Jaws script solution
Показать описание
Melodyne is hugely complex, especially when you're coming at it from a visually impaired or blind persons point of view. However, using the dedicated scripts created for the Jaws screen reader, many visual challenges have been overcome, hence giving unrivalled access to this amazing piece of software.
The Jaws scripts support all versions of Melodyne, (Essential, Assistant, Editor and Studio), along with all 3 useage possibilities, (stand alone, ARA integration and the VST plugin).
Selecting blobs in Melodyne is another aspect that is incredibly difficult for any visually impaired or blind user. It is possible to move through blobs with the left/right arrow keys, but this is beyond inefficient, because a loaded file could have literally hundreds and hundreds of blobs to move through. So, that's why most, if not all users of Melodyne, would use the mouse to select blobs when needed.
In this video, I walk you through selecting blobs via a script approach, which mirrors what a sighted user would do, hence making this key action just as efficient as a sighted user using the mouse.
The Melodyne Jaws scripts are partnered with the samplitude Access project. So, if you're interested in learning more, go here::
