I looked up critical race theory and this is what Wikipedia said: “Critical race theory is a cross-disciplinary examination, by social and civil-rights scholars and activists, of how laws, social and political movements, and media shape, and are shaped by, social conceptions of race and ethnicity. “ Yea I don’t think this broad subject is taught in schools. This is a like a college course all by itself. You won’t be able to squeeze this into social studies or history in elementary or even high school.

My mom asked my if the school was teaching my second grader CRT. I told her she is learning about animals and their habitats. It’s second grade 😂

All CRT is is an area of study for law students. And it’s crazy how blown out of proportion it’s become.

Goddd I'm so glad I missed this circus in highschool by a few years; I'm 21 going on 22, and being trans in a rural town would have been WORSE now than it was a few years back. At least some of the adults acted indifferent then 🤷‍♂️. A lot of my teachers were awesome, but I know a few have quit because of the conservative parents; teachers that have been working for decades. DECADES.

The real thing that people are opposed to is antiracism. Which, ya know. Not hard to parse out the opposite of an antiracist, but it’s harder parse out the opposite of a critical race theorist.

As a millennial from the UK, I wish we had sociology as an option in pre-uni education. Being able to learn an introduction to CRT and/or related theories in school would have been amazing! Even if it was just an option for 16-18 year olds, we would have benefited from it a lot.

Me, when I was a kid: (listened to my social studies teachers tell us about how far this country has come and exactly how bad it used to be and participated when the class had discussions about how, when we became adults, we could further improve how we, as human beings, treat our fellow human being by considering the experiences our community members have and the biases that exists in our communities and how to address them as well as pointing out the remnants of past legislations and the effects still felt to this day from our past that can be improved upon for a better America)

Every time I hear parents complaining about a school curriculum today: (actively trying to destroy that by claiming CRT is some big bad that encompasses acknowledgement of the actual changes, strife, suffering and struggles that have happened in our country that are part of history)
