Gotta love how she advertised herself as “the first virtual singer that will perform in the real world” knowing Hatsune Miku and all of her friends exist 💀

i don’t think these metaverse people realize that you can not artificially manufacture a virtual singer sensation like hatsune miku. she wasn’t even supposed to be a pop star, she was marketed to musicians because that’s exactly what she is. an instrument. she only became a virtual star because of the incredible music vocaloid producers created with her. there’s also the factor of hatsune miku having a great design and a voicebank that’s nuetral enough that it can be used for any genre.

Polar: I’m the best animated singer!

Miku, Other Vocaloids, K/DA and even
Gorillaz: *Are we a joke to you?*

This honestly feels like an insult to Hatsune Miku and what she stands for. If they really wanted to make a rival for Miku, flexing about how many followers and saying she's the "first virtual singer, " ain't the way to go about it. Overall, great video.♡

The thing about Polar is she’s not even a “vocaloid character”, as you put it. She’s a virtual idol, a really manufactured one. Vocaloid is the name of the software Hatsune Miku first came out on.

Of course shes made by the soul publishing. Trying to 5-minute crafts polars way into fame. “I wAnNa cOlLab WiTh AriAna grande ShEs sO cOol 😀” polar icecap literally looks like one of those ads for these “turn yourself into a cartoon” apps and yet they market her as some relatable rebel when she looks like miku e-girl dollar store edition mild flavour.

The problem with polar is not only her design which is basic af but also her music is soo bad don't even get me started on that the lyrics look like they are either AI generated or someone who put random words together until they rhyme 💀💀💀

Just for my man Wowaka, I aint gonna let this shit ignore his hardworking. Polar’s dev team denying the existence of Vocaloid (which I use too, I use Kaai Yuki the most) is denying all the works we producers put into tuning the voices. They are ignoring the existence of YEARS, of our community’s hardworking. I’m in Vocaloid community since 2011, and solely for the man who inspired me to be a producer, I’m not gonna let this shit deny the existence of wowaka.

Honestly, the Soul Publishing is treating the virtual singer community as an untouched market. Which it's obviously not. She's not the first and she has to stand out to be special. Polar doesn't have much character apart from "female singer", which is so sad to see because she could literally be anything and TSB has a LOT of resources to make that happen! I don't think she's bad, I don't think she's good either, but just mediocre and uninspired.

The reason Vocaloid is so popular is that all the music used in it is community made and events are entirely community driven.

Every song used is done by some random joe who wanted to make their own songs and Vocaloid was that avenue that gave them, figuratively and literally, a voice to share these songs under. And these songwriters grow as more people get a hand in the software which is pretty easy to get. All this and the fact you can find these songs cropping up day after day on Niconico then other video streaming services like YouTube during it's golden years, Vocaloid's rise to prominence is the sort that only happens once in a million years.

Polar goes entirely against this philosophy, almost mockingly so and it's failure to reach any sort of popularity outside of ridicule is exactly the treatment she deserves.

I think everyone already knows, she looks like a literal duplicate of Hatsune Miku that was made from a low budget company

Miku was never marketed as a "virtual diva". She, like Sweet Ann, KAITO, MEIKO, and the first few voicebanks that came before her, was made to become a musical instrument - a digital piano that instead of outputting notes it gives out human vocals instead. Only did she become a character because of the mascot Crypton gave her as part of their "Character Vocal" series.

You know people, anything related to anime and they'll eat it up. _That's_ precisely what happened to Miku and the singers that came after her. Miku's mascot became a prominent figure to her name that people turned her into what she is now: a virtual diva. The funny thing is that KAITO and MEIKO's Vocaloid 1 boxart weren't supposed to be them at all, but because of Miku's uprising, their boxart mascot became their identity. But everything happened because of the community. Literally the only thing that wasn't from the community were the Project DIVA/Mirai games because those were from SEGA (which subsequentially helped shaped Miku's identity even overseas).

Polar is none of that. Her creators think she can just make an appearance in public one day and expect everyone to accept her the same way they did to Miku... boi are they wrong. It's not as easy as it looks.

The funny thing about polar trying to be a miku clone is that miku and vocaloids as a whole became popular because of the community
Miku can have more songs made with her voice made in a week than a artist can make in a year
Since there’s music made by thousands of different types of people you get music spanning upon many genres and sub genres
But with polar it’s just music made for getting popular on tiktok

This is just insulting to all vocaloid creators who have been doing this for years.

This company seems to forget that to make something a world wide hit that stays relevant for a long time, you actually have to have a good product. I hope all the attention around this nonsense dies down soon. No way anyone over 8 will like this.
