I literally just took out my freetress deep twist which I had in too long because I just had a baby and didn’t have time or energy to take my hair down 🥴🥴 it lasted a long time because I twisted it everyday and used Hawaiian silky on it every 2-5 days.

I have used this hair for years with (and the Batik brand..was amazing, like real hair) and I have to say, the formula is not the same anymore. The hair use to be soft, silky and I could keep for a long time. Now it tangles after a couple of weeks. I use to put on a #27.It was a beautiful honey blonde. Now the number 27 looks like 30. Too bad. I cannot find synthetic hair like back in the days that were almost like real hair and the longevity was amazing. Maybe it is a marketing thing for us to buy more. If it last too long, less sales. Just my thoughts.

Been here since the original freetress deep twist video! Tried that hair because of your channel girl ❤️ it’s definitely a little high maintenance but I’ve gotten the most compliments ever wearing that hair. Hawaiian silky is truly MAGIC for curly crochet hair too! Great video, as usual.

🇬🇧🙋🏾‍♀️I'm one of those ppl who don't mind maintenance if the hair looks good. Deep twist definitely falls into that category.
Most crochet is very reasonably priced so I don't wear it for longer than 3 weeks anyway. You looked amazing from start to finish Lia 👌🏾

I do recall Deep Twists requiring alot of work., .which I actually welcome(lol) after several months of locks and passion twists. Im on ML and could use something to do...wish me luck!!

I think the hair looks great after three weeks. I have worn Freetress Deep Twist hair for as long as 6 weeks with minimum work after 2 washings. I find spraying Olive Oil then spraying BRX help reduce matting. Love the TT33 color which is so hard to find. Thank you as always for your review.

I stumbled upon your channel years back, and it inspired me to try protective styles. I haven't looked back since. I will say deep twist is my favorite next to beach curl. Depending on how disciplined I am with a night routine, maintenance varies for me.

Love the honesty as usual. I guessed that it was going to be high maintenance after watching your travel vlogs. I also experienced something similar to a hair I purchased two months ago compared with the same hair I purchased 4 years ago. I’m blaming the new formulas!

I think some one of the reasons for such extreme difference in opinions on freetress deep twist could be based on color worn and/or install or maintenance differences. For example I first used #27 and #4 freetress deep twist for my 1st ever crochet style and bam! I was in love w crochet...similar to Lia's experience. However I tried a tt27 freetress deep twist and found that, that color might have tangled more. So I think it depends. But all in all, 1 of my fave hair ever! I wish I could attach a pic here! It was fiahhh! Lmao. And I agree w Hawaiian silky for detangling. Night time care is simple and wasn't high maintenance for me at all! Detangling, I use water mixed w detangler, scrunchy with 1 big twist, or several if you choose, silk head band and large silk bonnet. Yup scissors as well at times. And I swam with it out w no issues but no I wouldn't swim very often of course lol. Kept it in for 8 weeks! Find what works for u, we'll all have different opinions and definition of what "high maintenance" is. For me, hands down crochet hair is much easier to maintain than weave/extensions, wrapping, flat ironing and curling iron etc. Crochet much more protective for natural hair too, which is a huge plus!!!🙂

Thank you l! 😊 Glad that you reviewed it again! It's very good looking hair. I received lots of compliments but the work was a lot. Definitely high maintenance, especially as a first time crochet hair user who swims a lot. I wonder if there are any other brands that look similar but are lower maintenance and swim friendly??
