When ChatGPT launched, this was the first thing I thought of. At our college, most faculty do well to organize course material, but either don't fully understand mapping a course to competencies and learning outcomes. I copied a set of course competencies and asked ChatGPT to develop the modules. Then asked for it to further develop learning outcomes for each module. Then assessment, activities, and then continuing to drill down to the specific instructional content. Depending on the subject, it was pretty good. I also learned you can get varied answers in terms of complexity or depth if you ask ChatGPT to give answers in a voice or acting as a player. For example, for a film course asking for an overview to what makes a great film, if you add to the front "As a director...", or "As a cinematographer...", or "As a film critic..." you get varied answers based on the AI research of those perspectives. Very interesting.

Of course, many of us can see the good an bad of all this, but I am trying to focus on how this can help faculty improve their course structure. Then adding their voice of experience and character to add value. Cheers.

I am absolutely blown away by this video. This should definitely be a tool in the toolbox for all teachers. I agree, the real key is being able to write the best prompts. I will be looking for more training in this area.

It’s quite fascinating as the amount of teachers skeptical about this AI model has risen in the past month, but here I say as a student in college, it’s quite frankly crazy seeing teachers using lessons from chatGPT! It really is amazing!
