This scene reminds me the scene with Jack and the doctor after they lost one of the triplets (Kyle) and he said "Life normally finds a way of working itself out". - Seeing Sophie and Kevin in this moment with everything they've been through together and apart made be truly believe in true love that endures through it all. Kevin and Sophie is the definition of true love. I am SO happy they end up together.

This was so beautiful!! 😻 this was so cute how they were both kind of awkward around each other. And this actress is amazing! All these little quirks and I was totally rooting for them… so happy 😁 they sealed the deal! And the family’s reaction 😂 I had tears in my eyes with Sophie’s speech

This story hits home for me on so many planes. I have a Father-in-law and step-Mother-in-law and this is literally their story. Childhood sweethearts who came together, knew they were the one, but NEEDED to grow up and grow apart to come back together in the end. They are in their late 40’s and finally came back together and have been married for the last decade, but went through having children with other people, marriage, and divorce etc.

And I am married to their son, and unfortunately/ fortunately our story has followed very closely to theirs. We’re at the part in our story where it’s time to be apart. But watching this, and having seen it unfold in our own lives, this is what I hope for for us.

The dream of someone saying this to you. To set out that adult relationships are conditional. And her condition is that they love who they are now. In conventional terms that’s not romantic, setting a boundary like that, acknowledging that if that condition isn’t met then the romance will end. But what This Is Us does so beautiful is show how real romance is genuine and honest, not superficial make believe.

Theirs is a story that makes us believe in love. It does not have to fit. Somethings simply are. We waste time in making life perfect. When it is these moments and words that remain in our memory. There is no tragedy in their relationship. However they remain together.
