Would love a movie about the wars that the dwarves and elves were fighting during that time period.

I wish the films showed the Battle Under the Trees and the Battle of Erebor, just to show how high the stakes the War of the Ring was

He also attacked The Lonely Mountain keeping the Dwarves busy as well.

I had always assumed that they weren’t there at the final battle because there were simply not enough soldiers left. As a kid, I’d watched the movies first instead of reading the books, so when they didn’t show up, I’d assumed that the bulk of elven forces were massacred at helms deep, and because many had either died or left middle earth, there wouldn’t be a point in sending a tiny group of elves to the final battle.

I mean Aragorn's personal bros who show up at Minas Tirith are kinda from Rivendell. The Rangers leaned on Rivendell often for Sanctuary, or a safe place to raise important children. Not to mention Elrond's twin sons were part of Ellessar's crew too. They rollin'

I like how every major faction was busy on their own in the Ring war. The elves against Dol Guldur the dwarfes of erebor against the easterlings and mankind against mordor and the Harald drim

It wasn't just lothlorien, even the northen kingdom (daddy thranduils kingdom) was besieged, Sauron was isolating every kingdom, he had the numbers to do so.

Same with the dwarves, a large easterling army attacked Erebor and Dale. Dain Ironfoot led the dwarves of Erebor, and King Brand led the men of Dale against them. King Brand was slain, and Dain died while fighting over the body of Brand. At the prime age of 252.

The entire good and evil sided campaign of The Battle for Middle Earth II focuses on the battles to the north.
Having to do with the assaults on certain places in the elven and dwarven power holds.
The evil sides campaign has battles with the mouth of Sauron and the Goblins destroying Lorien, Mirkwood, Erebor, and Rivendell
The good sides campaign has battles with glorfindel, Gloin, and Dane fighting battles in the Blue Mountains, Erebor, Dol Guldur, and the Gray Havens.
An RTS classic, and definitely showed me a different side to the war then I was use to in the first Battle for Middle Earth game and in the movies I love to this day.

Wow that would make a whole set of movies in itself

It's also worth mentioning that there is only two actual elven kingdoms left in the third Age: Lothlorien and the Sylvan Realm. Imladris is more of a refuge and Lindon is but a shadow of its glory whose most of its population already sailed west and the elves that come in from the East are not here to stay but also to use the ports to sail away. So Lothlorien and Mirkwood are the only elven places to actually have any forces to send into battle and they were busy.

Peter Jackson, what did you do?
You know we wouldn't mind having a fourth LOTR movie!

I recommend the MMO game Lord of the Rings Online, the game is a bit old, but you play as a hero character who actually takes part in those "secondary" battles, like Invasion of Dol Guldor, you can explore locations like Angmar, and Mirkwoord, Dale, etc. Pretty cool :D

According to the new show, everyone would have been safe if Galadriel would have just got with Soroun

I was so pissed when they killed my man, Haldir. I also wish Glorfindel, Elladan and Elrohir were in the movies.

Here's a bonus to this fact. The dwarves themselves were also dealing with a orc attack in the north near Dale and Erebor. Dain Ironfoot died protecting the body of Brand grandson of Bard at the same time the Battle of Pelenor field
