She’s right. It’s definitely a lot harder for adults to learn another language than a child.

Love that she states everyone has a story and does not pity herself

A celebrity that doesn't feel sorry for herself! Makes me like her even more

Its amazing how as a child we are able to block out some moments of life which we don't want to remember.. Survival Mode at it's best

Her grandma distributing candies to kids so that Mila has friends... I remember my grandma doing something similar.. grandma's are the sweetest ♥️

Her family is amazing, have you heard the way she speaks of all of them? They have to be completely amazing for her to always speak so incredibly high of them. She is a mommy and daddy's girl you can see it in her smile. She positively shines when she talks about both of them. What a blessed family they all are. I would be willing to bet her heart aches for this terrible war in the Ukraine... we love your beautiful soul Mila!!

Mila is the absolute poster child of what hard working and humble parents produce. To this day they don’t even let her pay for their meal, and she and Ashton are raising their own children to be just as humble and down to earth, even with millions in the bank. I adore her

I like that she said it’s not such a “fascinating story“. Millions of children moved to this country not knowing the language, then eventually learned. My family and I migrated here in 1999, although I understood English to some extent, I did not speak a word of English. It’s quite common what she went through, but Americans find everything fascinating. But I’m glad she quickly shut that down lol

This just unlocked a memory of when I was being bullied in a new school, my mom and I came up with the idea to bake a bunch of different cookies and give a speech about why they were hurting my feelings and should stop. Then between points, hand out cookies. It was ridiculously naive and would probably just have made things worse for most people in most situations, but are you ready for the shocker? It worked. They weren't my FRIENDS, but they didn't give me problems after that. They saw I just had different things going on in my life & they were nicer to me until I left that school.
Looking back... It sounds a lot like we trained them to be nice to others, like they were puppies? 😅

The brain will block out traumatic memories... to help you sleep etc. Thats prob why she doesnt remember crying. One thing about Mila Kunis is she talks a little about her life but she doesnt play thr pity card as she is now a millionaire and is happy to be content

Bringing sweets to a new class/on your birthday was a common thing to do in Ukraine in 90s and early 2000 at least for primary school

Why does this make me so sad, it must have been so difficult for her parents and grandparents to watch her go through all that, while going through the same or worse.

I did that too, i moved abroad and i cried so much on second grade, it was super tough for me to make friends and i had a really rough time but my 7yo brain blocked all of that trauma out. And i didn't remember, only years later when my parents told me as we were talking about it and i said it was so great and fun... And then they sort of helped unlock all those memories my brain pushed aside in order to protect me.
Moving countries as a kid with a different language is hard.

Her whole story is even more amazing. All the sacrifices her parents made and how hard she worked to get where she is now is great.

I moved here when I was 10, my Mom found my diary and I wrote that it was so hard but I couldn't complain because my Mom was working a lot. I was learning English as well. And I don't remember writing that I know it was hard but have no memory of that. I broke down crying, 10 year old me was so sad and felt like I couldn't complain to anyone.

If you look closely, Mila cries at the end when Ellen asks about the candy at school incident
