On June 10, 2017, the University of Washington honored the graduating class of 2017 at the University’s 142nd Annual Commencement Exercises. Over 5,500 graduates took the field at the magnificent Husky Stadium to the cheers and applause of 40,000 family members and friends.

All graduates walked across the 4,000 square foot purple and gold commencement stage, adorned with life-sized replicas of the University columns, and had their photographs taken as they received their diploma mementos (a purple leather diploma cover bearing the official seal of the University of Washington).

It's a once-in-a-lifetime event in the lives of graduates and parents alike – an experience not to be missed.

Featuring commencement speaker, Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole, former president of Spelman College and Bennett College, and recently retired director of the National Museum of African Art.
