The best therapy is to talk, the second one is getting out into the grate outdoors, the third is finding fat wood. Cheers.

My friend u are exactly right, the tree does protect itself from insects and fungi with sap (terpene), why else would the tree produce this compound to the damaged area. Trees are smarter than we understand, study the venus flytrap plant then i bet u will agree. Thanks for the video. Also did u know pine needle tea has the complete vitamin c complex and has 4 times the amount of vit. C than an orange? Great tree.

I hope you have better luck than I in making shavings in advance. Even when I vacuum sealed the bag, after a week or so the fatwood had lost it's "magic" of burning after a pass or two of a fero rod. Other people have reported the same results. Just make sure and try making shavings, let it set for a week or so and try lighting it before going on a trip. When left in stick form fatwood lasts for many years. A piece I have has been outside in the snow, rain, heat, etc. for 5 years and when I scrape some in a pile, one or two strikes with a fero rod and I have flame. I just keep a few sticks with me. Thanks for a well done video, and keep on hunting!
