North Island | New Zealand Stories

More adventures from our long North Island road trip in New Zealand! This time we did the Tongariro Northern Circuit Great Walk and hiked Mt. Holdsworth - Jumbo Circuit. We drove on the Castle Point beach with our van, jumped into numerous North Island waterfalls, enjoyed the sunset at Cape Palliser, strolled through lush Coromandel Peninsula meadows and boiling pools of Rotorua, enjoyed some ale at the Hobbiton and were just constantly amazed by never ending New Zealand North Island's beauty.

Coming to New Zealand we've been so focused on the South Island (which was magnificent nonetheless) that we hadn't paid much attention to the North before we arrived. And we have to admit that the North Island like an underdog just totally surprised and blew us away. New Zealand's North Island had become our home for wonderful 8 months that we will never forget.
