When This Mom Breastfed Her Baby At A Restaurant, The Waitress Gave Her A Note That Left Her Stunned

While out to breakfast one day, Isabelle Ames did something that some might consider shocking: she started breastfeeding her baby in full view of the restaurant’s other patrons. And while the mom juggled a ten-month-old and her breakfast, that task turned into a struggle. After a waitress sensed a potentially uncomfortable situation, though, she handed Isabelle a note. And when Isabelle read it, she started to cry.

Congratulations you have every right to feed your baby whereever you want. I was once told to go and breastfeed my baby in the toilets. I asked the woman if she would come with me and eat her lunch in the toilets. When she said of course she wouldn't I asked why my daughter should. She had no answer to that. There are some very rude people. My advice Ignore them and carry on the good work.

Breastfeeding is not a choice, it's responsibilities!

Nothing more beautiful than a breastfeeding Mum and child. My 5 children were all breast fed. It's so natural and good for Mum and baby. Anyone with a problem needs to get a life

Agree with Erica; to those who don’t like to see a mother breastfeeding her child, DON’T Look! There is at LEAST a 340 degree ‘circle’ around us that doesn’t have a mother deeding her baby - LOOK somewhere else!

About 29 years ago I was “caught” by an older woman breastfeeding my son in the mall in our town. The only thing that anyone could see was my son lying in my arms with his face very close to my breast. There was no skin showing nor was there any other obvious ways for this woman to know that he was breastfeeding instead of sleeping in my arms ... until you looked at his face. His lower jaw was moving up & down & he was visibly swallowing something as well ... but you would have to have looked very closely ... which was what this woman did. Instead of her being embarrassed to discover that I was “indecently” showing my son feeding, she tried to shame me for doing something so natural by telling me that the “proper/best” way to feed a child was formula from a bottle. Before I could respond another lady came to my defence & told the older woman that she was wrong about the formula filled bottle, that I was giving my child the best food that God had given women to feed their children with. After the older woman had finally left, in a huff, the younger woman turned to me & told me that she was so glad to see another mother doing what she had been unable to do with her children. She just didn’t ever get enough milk to feed her babies when the time came, in spite of the good size of her breasts.
Breastfeeding had started to be more & more encouraged in that time, as well as more & more breastfeeding supports groups were being formed & getting bigger & bigger all the time. I am so glad that so many women are also getting more & more comfortable feeding their infant in this natural way, though there will always be a “prude” to try to stop this from happening.

I breast fed both of my kids. BUT! If I was in public, I would be very modest, and put a blanket over me and my kid.

I fed in public. Anyone who finds the act of breastfeeding offensive is the one with the problem. Feeding babys is a natural normal process. How many adults want to eat in a filthy bathroom? Why should a baby?

Kudos to mom n the server!!! Anyone with a issue should just not watch...they're the one with a issue!! And asking to cover up is RIDICULOUS!!! Ask them if they eat under a blanket? Or worse is being asked to go in the restroom! Ask if they want to eat in a bathroom!? Why would ANYONE expose their lil one to the potential germs in a restroom in order to feed them? Would they take them in there if they were in a high chair? Of course not!! So WHY should it be ANY different?!!!? I think it's just AWFUL that a mother feeding their lil one is harassed at all!!! If my lil one were hungry, they'd get fed.... no matter where I was at!! Try telling a baby they need to wait 10 min til no ones around so no one will be offended!! Ya, that won't fly. TOTAL BS that ANY Mom should need to worry about someone elses insecurities over taking care of their baby!! And FYI...its against the law to even ask a mom to go elsewhere!! SHAME on whoever says anything to a nursing mom that makes them feel like they're doing anything wrong!! There's such a double standard these days in regards to breasts. God forbid a mom feeds her baby, but it's perfectly fine to go to a Hooters n gawk. Some people get bent outta shape over seeing a mom nurse but have no problem watching the Victoria Secret fashion show!!! STUPIDITY at its finest!!! 🙋‍♀️😡😵😠 Keep on nursing gals!!! Thats what God made them for!!! 💟❤💖🤗😍😘

Next time she doesn't need to go to toilet, she can just squart next to the table. It is also very natural. Use the news paper though, strangers should not clean after you.

I tried to breast fed my youngest 22yrs ago but no go
But when I saw my eldest fed her baby I saw a beautiful thing (a mum feeding her baby the way god wanted us women to as that's why we have breasts )

I had 8 children I brestfed, but I covered myself with a blanket to not offend anyone else. I prefer modesty.

What do breasts and electric trains have in common? There both meant for the kid but it's dad that ends up playing with them

She could have brought a cover to give her privacy

If my baby wanted to nurse when I was in public, I would go to a restroom or out to my car and feed.
