I keep overthinking these and then rationalizing against the answer.
For example, the sunflowers were apparently swaying to the left while the clouds went to the right.
1) To me they don't look like they were heading in any particular direction, they seemed to left AND right.
2) Even if the clouds go to the right, it does not mean the air currents on the ground must go this way as well. Especially if the hill was on a higher altitude, this could mean that the wind went up the hill as heat rises and this could circulate the air in the opposing direction.
