This is just one movement that a CrossFit athlete does. It’s not just a “muscle up” it’s more of a “get your body above the bar” they do 100’s of them in some competitions. They also have to deadlift/clean/squat 100s of pounds on top of it… give the CrossFit guy some credit. Muscle ups are the least of his worries.

as a person who does crossfit and has an amazing person to make our workouts we do strict pull ups and strict muscle ups so yes we can do “real pull ups”

I like them both. A good CF trainer would tell you not to begin doing keeping pull-ups until you reach 10 or 12 strict ones.

Me and my buddy in high school would do muscle up challenge seeing who would get the most. He trained CrossFit his whole life and he would do the same exact thing the CrossFit guy was doing. He’d beat me the first two times then my teammates on the football team told him to stop swinging and do a muscle up like me, he couldn’t get past 6 😅

There is many hate towards cross fit in the comments im a callisthenics athlete who can do 9 muscle ups and 18kg pullups for reps and tbh cross fit is not that bad the purpose of working out is to work on the specific muscle you want to and train it till failure and cross fit does it great too 💪.

The problem is that the movement used in CrossFit is used precisely to be faster in order to do more repetitions, but that's not the case! You can clearly see that the calisthenic boy is looking at the other and waiting for him to do the exercise at the same time. Crazy! 😂
