People need to look at the date videos are released and then look at the breaking changes in Home Assistant. Of course your tutorial worked at the time it was released. Home Assistant does change fairly rapidly to move things away from the YAML and into the UI as the raodmap seems to be to make it more UI and mainstream based. Thanks for updating the tutorial :)

THANK YOU for this! Couple tips for anyone struggling...

I was super confused that when I would populate my calendar.yaml, it would break the calendar entity and I could not get more than one entity to show up!

I also had the .yaml from an old version already and it took a bit to figure out I should fully clear it out first.

I didn't realize they would only show up under Developer Tools! I gave it a unique name like suggested and then removed the original entity within Google Calendar integration.

I wasted a lot of time on offset until realizing it needs to be in the calendar event name not just the .yaml - not gunna work for me but not a deal breaker.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this calendar thing. What I am looking to do is on the holidays calendar - for Valentine's Day HA would turn my WLED lights on to a certain preset at sunset. On St. Patrick's Day, have the lights turn on to a different preset. Easter would be the a different preset. Patriotic days would all be a different preset. How would I do that?

Very helpful and easy to follow. Question - I'm trying to set up a tablet/dashboard with our family calendar + sports and such. One thing that would be nice to see on the calendar view of the dashboard is location if available. Anyone know how I can add that to the dashboard view? Thanks,

I really enjoy all of your videos!
My system crashed about six months ago and I am just now getting to setting up google calendar. I have created credentials and when I try to add the integration through the UI I get the following error. "Access Blocked: Authorization Error: - The OAuth client was not found." I have searched the web and redone the setup multiple times. Please point me in a direction where I can get this working!

Hi ! Thanks for this video :) It's work very well with 1 entity on a calendar. But, since I add a second entity (device_id + name + search, + track) as you do, the new entity calendar is not add and the 1st one become unavailaible.
I try this on the main calendar of the account.
Did you already see this problem ?

Fairly new to Home Assistant - I've got a remote touch screen set up to open a specific dashboard for calendar / weather /etc. As a family check-in. I've got the calendar card as well as the atomic revive working, however there is no way to add events to either the calendar card from the touch screen / dashboard. I'm wanting this to be an interactive family calendar. Am I missing something to be able to add events from the dashboard? Thanks

Thanks for this video. I'm under 2023.8.4 and when I restart HA it errors on the second cal_id: line. If I delete them, then I can reload the automation. But they come back as soon as the integration reloads.

How can I get the HA Google Calendar to sync with Google without reloading the integration?

I don't want to have to reload daily just to keep the HA Instance updated.

hi, can i ask why my calendar in HA and my google calendar app are not update in real time? if i add an event on my google calendar app it's not showing on HA until i do some action on the calendar in HA.. like delete an event or add another event. there is some setting to change this? thank you

At 18:54 you state that for the device_id you use demo_events, but in the vido you have it as "Demo Events". Is the underscore needen since it is an ID?

Adding the Google Calendar integration now, it doesn't seem to ask for ID and Secret, rather skips to the next section of logging into Google.
This then results in an Oauth error everytime.
