Pre-Calculus Optimization problem

Using the vertex of a function to find it's maximum or minimum

I took the two zeroes of A by solving the quadratic, then took the average of these. I either hadn't seen or didn't remember the equation for the vertex, but when I saw it, I realised it's exactly the same thing.
