DK's videos have gotten better. He seems way more comfortable on screen, and they're much cooler. I had no idea about this, Rocket is one of those weird and awesome characters you just gotta love.

Cool to know about the charity and about the creator of Rocket at the end. I'll definitely check them out. Thanks, DK.

Bill Mantlo is one of the most influential writers in the history of comics that modern readers are just starting to rediscover. While his output was not always the greatest quality, less because he wasn't talented and more because he was overworked, he was one of the most prolific writers at Marvel from the mid 70s through the 80s. While he is probably best known for his lengthy runs Micronauts and the Hulk, he wrote at least a few issues of pretty much everything and left his mark on so many popular characters. My personal favorite Bill Mantlo comics are his original White Tiger stories in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu which featured Marvel's first Latino superhero and which attempted to grapple with political and social issues in New York city in a way that no comic before ever really had. Really awesome stuff.

A alien falls to earth. She has diamond skin(like Emma Frost) and can also shot diamonds from her hands and reflect light. She would take up the human name Lucy. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

The Beatles are my favorite band ever! I always wondered about Rocky Raccoon and Rocket Raccoon.

That part at the end made me sad, then it made me happy knowing there's a charity to help out comic book writers, drawers, and anyone else in the industry who need it

This is not a comic, but a Manga, Most characters are based on songs like The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, Prince and many many many more
It's called Jojos's Bizarre Adventure

(Jojo is already a reference to The Beatles)

I'd read the Hulk issue and the 4-issue miniseries, but I didn't know about the earlier Marvel Preview appearance. I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

I want a superhero team set in the 60's led by Sgt Pepper (rogue army general) and his sidekick Billy Shears, Jojo, (plant powers) Loretta Mardon (Shapeshifter), Mr Kite (magic wielder), Nowhere Man (teleporter), and Blackbird (martial artist)
Who all have to fight an evil organization called W.A.L.R.U.S. made up of Maxwell Edison (mad scientist with a weapon of choice), Sexy Sadie (seductress assassin), Mr Mustard and Polytene Pam (twins with rage issues and persuasive powers respectively), Doctor Robert (mind warping ability), and the Taxman (corrosive powers).
Theres also an anti hero Bungalow Bill (sharpshooter) who gets thrown into the mix and helps both sides at times, and the heroes report to Commissioner Rita, the last good cop in Liverpool.

I think Major Tom from "Space Oddity" would make a great comic miniseries. It could follow his life leading up to his historic space flight, and end just after its tragic outcome.

The Savage Dragon comics also have a Beatles-"inspired" character, a police woman named Rita Medermade, who is named after the Beatles song "Lovely Rita" or "Lovely Rita Meter Maid"...I've know for years about the Rocket Racoon/Beatles connection, and since The Savage Dragon exists in a universe where characters from ALL comics also reside, for a long time I've kind of wanted a Rocket&Rita storyline in Savage Dragon, or maybe even a mini-series featuring them, even though it probably never-ever going to even come close to

I always thought he was a reference, but thanks for clearing that up! As for the question you posed to us, I'd go with the "characters" from the song Spaceman from The Killers. I could see them going a very New Gods/ OG Guardians of The Galaxy route, if published today maybe a straight up tribute to that era of Sci-Fi Space Heroes comics.

On a related side-note I created an entire "Urban Pantheon" and plot based on the entire album Day & Age by The Killers, the album where that song came from actually, for the tabletop RPG Scion.(formerly by White Wolf, currently by Onyx Path)
