Zeus was born to Cronus and Rhea, two of the Titans who ruled over the universe before the Olympian gods. According to legend, Cronus had been warned that one of his children would overthrow him, so he swallowed each of his newborn children whole to prevent this from happening. However, Rhea managed to save Zeus by tricking Cronus and hiding him away on the island of Crete, where he was raised by a goat named Amalthea and later became a powerful god in his own right.

Zeus was known for his immense power and strength, and was often depicted wielding a lightning bolt as his weapon of choice. He was also known for his many romantic conquests, and had numerous children with mortal and immortal women alike.

As the king of the gods, Zeus was responsible for maintaining order and justice in the universe. He presided over the council of gods on Mount Olympus and was often called upon to settle disputes and make decisions that would affect the fate of mortals and immortals alike. Some of his most famous feats include defeating the Titans and the monster Typhon, and helping the hero Heracles (Hercules) in his many adventures.

Despite his reputation as a powerful and benevolent deity, Zeus also had a dark side. He was known for his jealous and vengeful nature, and would often punish mortals and immortals who crossed him or disobeyed his commands. He was also notorious for his infidelity, and would often punish his lovers and their children if they angered him.
