I think App Maker addresses a very real need of businesses: automating internal processes through custom apps. Too often businesses deliver great software for their clients, but neglect their internal processes... hopefully App Maker will be able to address this issue :-)
PS: Later in the talk, Geva mentioned that one could use App Maker to create reports. How does App Maker compare to Google Data Studio in this respect?

Meh. Can't be used without a SQL cloud instance which you also have to buy from Google. If it could operate without that, would be more accessible for your average user
