I got SK10Y sound bar on great deal last year. Any news if LG will/can do a firmware upgrade for SK10y (2018) to support DTS:X?

EARC isn't a must-have feature for me right now, maybe a few years from my opinion may change a little bit.
Also great for LG for now supporting both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X on their soundbars. :D

Is it worth upgrading c8 to c9? I have c8 with SL10YG. I'm looking to get the lg sn11rg sound bar. I had issues with audio sounding good through out the room. It's only good when you are in the Center of speaker. I use appletv 4k and vudu. Also don't up700 4k player. Do you have any advice about my upgrade

Just picked up the Samsung hw n950 soundbar. It has both Dolby Atmos and DTS X. sound amazing for the room I have it in.

Thanks, the 12 bit panel info was especially helpful. It's exciting but also frustrating waiting for the new TVs in that you always wonder what's coming down the line in the following year and is it worth waiting another year.

I don't really see the point of soundbars. I get the convenience, but surely it can't beat actual speakers set up around the room?

The Sony Z9F soundboard got the upgrade for eArc recently. I’m more interested in new tv’s that will have eArc, as it’s supposed to support non compressed audio and atmos in its native form thru hdmi, which current Arc connections cannot output.Its a beneficial feature for people that have soundbars.

People that buying sound bars just for getting some light sound effect over their head should try out a good 2.0 system just to get some perspective. Just my opinion, not to hate on people that buy sound bars but the reason with no space? I don’t buy it.

I really don't care what kind of title they put on it, if you really think you can get a great sound out of a soundbar where there's a bunch of speakers all within a couple of feet of each other, well all I can say is, you carry on my friend. On the other hand if you want a "wow factor" from your audio to go with the "wow factor" with your OLED TV, then there's no alternative than to go with an AV receiver. I promise you will have no regrets, Plus in for a penny in for a pound.

Cahman it's been news for 6 months at least the best dolby atmos and dts x soundbar is the Samsung HW-N950. No maybes.

Anyway still can't figure out whether to go OLED or QLED TV side.

HDMI 2.1 May be nice but honestly I can’t care as far as my pc goes, it would be nice if one of these high end TVs had at least one display port 1.4 port.

i have Super UHD Samsung 60inch.
I almost bought 65inch OLED on sale for end of year sale. But i thought fuck it. ill wait for 2019 models.
I'm looking to getting a LG OLED 65inch with HDMI 2.1, But whoever gets the best OLED reviews for 2019 in the next id say 4months. I'll be getting that for sure.
As a massive gamer Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch. I'm excited for this years OLED
I also watch a lot of 4k movies and watch a shit tone of sports.
Looking to spend around $5000 to $6000au on my new tv. Now i just got to wait for them to drop?
