President Cyril Ramaphosa says South Africa will continue to support efforts to find lasting peace in the Middle East. The confrontation between Israel and Iran has become more direct in recent months. On Tuesday last week, Iran launched some 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, its second direct attack, after a missile and drone attack in April in retaliation for a deadly Israeli air strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
Israeli officials have vowed retaliation but have not said when or what form this may take.
To talk more on this matter, we are joined virtually by Iran's Cultural Attaché in South Africa, Seyed Mostafa Daryabari.

thank you South Africa for standing for justice and world peace against regimes that act with impunity. International law mu st be upheld regardless of internal country affairs are not in order (South African internal affairs). Our international peace is absolutely essential for future sustainability. When you occupy and kill indigenous people and oppress them, take away their rights, their statehood ...then you create resistance. Israel created Hamas (in their own image). So to argue about 1 year ago is futile in the face of 75 years of illegal (under International Law) occupation by Israel (Zionism).
