"Why is the animation so good here?"
*Director: Brad Bird*
Okay that makes sense.

What makes it truly great is the bittersweet note at the end - that wild, exuberant, liberating free-for-all musical number, was all just in Bart's mind, and he's stuck in time-out the same as ever. It's that little touch of pathos that makes all the Simpsons characters so relatable.

Nancy Cartwright Man. She killed this. She will always be Bart Simpson nobody else. Voice acting legend.

For something that was animated in only 2 weeks, the animation looks very smooth especially considering the animation was directed by the legendary Brad Bird.

Some people may have spent the 35th anniversary of the show rewatching the first episode, but for me, i chose to listen to this, and i dont regret it.

The fact this was all animated in TWO WEEKS is fucking astonishing.

This show was an immediate hit its first year, a true cultural phenomenon. STuff like this, its so hard to explain what it was like back then, what it meant to us. And hip hop was finally mainstream, and all over random media. Think the first two Ninja Turtles movies, MC Hammer in the 1st, Vanilla Ice in the 2nd, then Hammer again in the Addams Family Movie, "Whoop there it is" for the sequel.

Did You Know that Michael Jackson wrote this song as part of a deal he made with Matt Groening. The deal was: Let Michael guest star on the show and he would write Bart a #1 hit song

This was peak Simpsons. It was good for a long time after this too, but this was the golden era.

If you can do the Bart, you're Bad like Michael Jackson.

I just love that Michael Jackson Song.
So cool that he helped so much the Simpsons to get a global success just because he believed in that tv-series from the very beginning on

I had no idea Brad Bird (director of the Incredibles 1-2 and Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol) directed this classic of my childhood, amazing 💕

I consider the airing of this episode to be the official beginning of the 90s. Michael Jackson's influence at the time was like nothing else. Just look at other 90s icons: Sonic the hedgehog? The design of his shoes were directly inspired by Michael. McCulley Culkin? ended up becoming lifelong friends with Michael. Pretty much every young male character that Michael touched in the early 90s became a phenomenon

You always know it's a Brad Bird Simpson's 'episode' when you see A113. 😁

Wow, brings me back to my childhood. I was probably in about the fourth grade at 11 years old when this came out. I'm now 42 years old, crazy how time flies.

Just listening "the way you make me feel" by MJ and there from nowhere this song came to my memory. Unbelievable piece of animation, and this quality looks so well. Thanks to whoever uploaded this piece of art. And the song... So catchy :)
