Are you having trouble finding power or speed in your #MuayThai roundhouse kicks? Maybe it's your balance or coordination that is off? Try these 3 tips, to optimize the rotation in your round kicks:

1. "Slide a piece of paper under your foot" (Pivot support foot)
2. "Fling sweat and comb your hair" (Swing arms)
3. "Swing arm up to the sky" (Don't be lazy!)

"we refer to this as the Dracula guard, because it looks like mwuahaha" 🤣😂😂 had me dying. But in all seriousness though, I really love the way you explain things, it really helps understand how to do the technique 😁

If you know the biomechanics of your own body, then you will be a deadly fighter. You are both the pilot and the machine. Sweet science indeed 🔥

I love martial arts. It's funny how no matter how good I feel or confident there's always something new to learn. Even coaches tell me my roundhouse kicks are pretty solid, but that small tip with scissoring the arm and focusing on it really did increase my speed and power just a fraction! Thank you for the tips Shane!

5:12 this tip is SO IMPORTANT. When I first started I didn’t pull my left shoulder back and that twist in the spine left me with awful lower back pain for days until my coach found that problem in my form.

Wow, actually I saw senchai doing the same thing with the arm going up after the kick while shadow boxing. I couldn’t understand why is he doing that. Great video, thank you Shane

Really appreciate your videos. The amount of techniques I was able to learn over the years thanks to your very clear breakdown of the technique while you are demonstrating it. And I thank you for that cause I've been thru 3 MMA gyms over the course of the last 5 years and to be honest I've learnt more from your videos because of how thoroughly you breakdown the technique, how to set up the technique, and how to Proform it in its most effective way. And I thank you for helping me get better at the very thing I love to do the most!!!

Pausing like that mid kick to demonstrate the different steps is really impressive, great balance.

I started Muay Thai In January of this year. Been getting frustrated because my rotation on the kicks is not there and I just feel akward lol. Coming across this video has helped and I’ll be practicing religiously. Thank you 😊

I like how you talked about the lifting the planted foot just a millimeter, I have talked about that in my own instruction, but the way you explain it I think will help me explain it in the future. Thanks Coach!!!

The last tip with the scissering motion is years ahead of the game, ive never heard or would have come up with this. Thanks so much for sharing this gem!

So many tutorials on this technique say "twist", "turn your hips over", "move through your target", but not how to get you body to actually move that way. I spent a while with the full roundhouse trying to turn around by using my hip flexors and it hurt, not to mention leading to a stall in the posted leg which leads to a stalling of the rotation and ballistic internal rotation of the kicking hip, which hurt in a worse way.
You are the BEST teacher on recruiting every body part to get that full body rotation.
One thing I think you are missing Shane is the use of the posted foot to push your body forward and/or forward and a bit to the side to initiate the rotation.
Perhaps you can do a video on how the mt roundhouse mirrors the Korean/Chinese/Japanese straight leg wheel kick. Both techniques mirror one another, as the mt roundhouse involves a rotation forwards, and the wheel kick involves a rotation backwards.
