One important caveat I think should be mentioned. These mods may make your car more valuable, but there is no guarantee that your car will sell enough more to cover the cost of getting and installing the mods. Especially for a repaint or active exhaust, you could spend many thousands to get it done and may end up raising the value of the car by less than half the install cost. These mods are better off as a "I want to modify my car and not tank its value" instead of "I can put these on to sell my car for more profit." The exception might be polishing headlights as that is relatively affordable to do.

Last year I got a 1994 BMW 740IL. The exterior was... ok, pealing clear coat and some chips in paint. The the INTERIOR is what sold me, the leather was still really nice and well kept and the plastic-wood trim still looked really good. Keeping interiors nice, or upgrading them, really does help a sale.

Do NOT replace halogen headlight bulbs with ANY HID (LED, Xenon) without replacing your headlight housing. You need the cutoff in HIDs to remain legal. If there's no clear cutoff at the top of your beam when projected onto a flat wall, it's blinding oncoming drivers as if your high-beams were on. It's illegal for a reason. I'm so sick of a-holes just slapping LEDs into their s-box 2000s Chevy pickup. Either spend the money to get a new headlight designed for HIDs or stick to halogen bulbs! Don't be that guy, everybody hates that guy!

Right, all of my lights are either replaced or polished I cannot stand the oxidized cloudy appearance, non-effective at night very dangerous.

Driving without taillights at night, this happens all the time here in Sweden.
Since for decades we had a law that said that the headlights and taillights must both come on automatically when you start the car, so everyone was used to having the lights on at all times.
With DRL lights, this dosen't happen, and most people have no idea that their taillights are off, so they drive around 24\7 with no taillights, even you flash at them, they don't connect the dots.
Drl lights don't work in Sweden at all because of this sadly.

I will suggest not slapping on any modern infotainment system to a car that's pre 2000s unless it's built to look retro. But I'm really into the mid 80s-early 90s cars.
I've personally passed on many C4 Corvettes, 3rd gen F bodies, and even a nice 2nd gen Supra because of the bad aftermarket stereo. It ruins the look, and depending on who does the wiring, can be a nightmare to put back to stock.

I don't know if you could call it a mod, but deep cleaning a car before selling it boost it's value up a lot, bc you're selling a clean car and you're comfortable to sit in a clean car

I really like the look of old school head lights. The orange/yellow ish color just scratches my brain a certain way. In GTA 5 i almost never upgraded the headlights for that reason

PPF adds a little but if value.

Ceramic does not add any value. Not a dollar. But... It does help preserve the value as you ALSO stated
