I stumbled upon you arrl outing through your Simpson 260 calibration page. Great info thanks! I have to give thanks to the ARRL and they’re fantastic electronics book. I’ve learned so much from it. Very interesting watching you set up and operate a ham radio.

I have always said it and I maintain it: less is more and I love seeing that in a small bag, there is the joy of a good radio amateur. 73, I'm YV2ESB, Merida/Venenzuela

That was a good demo of setting up, antenna etc. Would have loved to see you use the tuner.

W2RTM of the New Jersey Antique Radio Club activated the sister Marconi 1914 receiving site in Belmar, NJ for Field Day! We had various rigs on line including Gonset Communicators, Heathkit Sixers, a BC-611 and some other big iron alongside two Icoms for the event. 550+ contacts on phone, 80+ on CW. Sorry we missed you on the air. Kudos for the nice clean portable operating setup. Maybe we'll work you next year. N2GX, N2KPS, N3FRQ, K2TPP, KC2RDU, K2RGM and a bunch of others had a whole lot of fun. 73's

Inspiring, and you use CW so fluently. Great to see, and I hope soon, to read - I'm learning Morse.

Please show your tuning process. I have an MFJ-9201 but it should be a similar enough QRP tuner for me to learn from your process. Edit. I just found your video #268 on how to tune with this tuner. Thanks!

That was great. The little radio is cute, but I was hoping to see the 703. I have one I got while building the K2 and later got a KX3. The 703 inboard antenna tuner is a delight. I used it on PSK a lot end even worked a ham in my home town once - Hampton, NJ (where Rte 31 crosses from Hunterdon Cty to Warren Cty). I was originally licensed there in '57 at 13. My Elmer there was W2AZZ. I studied with his son, who was later W1AZZ. I remember a FD there in NNJ somewhere with a bunch of Goonie Boxes. They started my love of VHF. I wish I knew where that took place.

That was cool! You even had "Bambi" to help you break the station down when you were done!

Feels like there is a lot of radio history in NJ. Bell Labs, Fort Monmouth, the Marconi station...
