Why would Csc^2=1+Cot^2 if Cosecant is negative? would we not flip sides and make the 1 and cotangent negative as well? Or does it not matter if Cosecant is negative or positive, it will always be equal to 1+cot^2?

Apologies in advance, just starting this unit for my AP math course and I was a bit stuck. Great video!
