Dollhouse Renovation Part 1

My sweet mother has stored my Victorian Dollhouse from the 1980s in the rafters for decades. I finally had time to start renovating it during the pandemic and so excited to share the journey with you. I'm learning as I go and trying to be innovative and thrifty because dollhouses can be quite expensive hobbies. Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted my own dollhouse, especially those wooden ones like this, that would be on the top shelf of every hobby store that I would go to. I could theoretically purchase everything I need to make one or paint one, but I just don’t have the room for it. It would have to be something very small, but I could hang on the wall.

I grew up with a dollhouse like this that my mother built shingle by shingle, with working lights and everything. It was like a southern home with a wrap around porch, and we used to go to Pearl's and Hobby lobby on the weekend for all the miniature things. I miss it so much, she only sold it a couple years ago and I didn't even know! I asked about it because I too wanted to renovate mine, but I've acquired a small, personal handcrafted one that I'm going to do instead
