such a bittersweet this took place when Allen Ludden (the former host, and Betty's husband) had left Password because he had late-stage cancer, at the time he was still in the hospital. He eventually returned to host the show again, but he passed away after less than a year.
It's so sweet and sad, to see this show where they are directing jokes to him while he is in the hospital, saying things like " _Well now Allen will surely have to come back_ ".

I watched this three times, so many double entendres going on here, I couldn't stop laughing. I sure hope that Allen Ludden lived long enough to see this! Dick Martin was eggin' it all on, he just wouldn't stop, , , , loved it! Being that Allen was in serious health and he was on everyone's mind, I am sure it was great medicine for all of them, especially Betty, to have these belly laughs! RIP Betty and Allen, and Tom Kenedy and Dick very funny...I added this to my "favs"!
