Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 Server vs. SR650 review - 768

I also got to side by side compare the SR630 to the 2U SR650.

Thank you Morten for an outstanding video. Kudos to you going to great length to update us on a loved Lenovo Brand Servers. They still carry some systemX DNA as you have noticed. Quite frankly I like it more than the Fujitsu one.

Nice video of a nice basic little server.
I wonder if those GPU power pins on the motherboard would still deliver power even though there is no connector?

If they do, one could "hack" a connector on it with a little soldering :-)

Another reason for separate smaller physical servers could be to isolate apps due to the torrent of Intel CPU security vulnerabilities.

I am surprised given that LOM also means Lights Out Management.

Lenovo makes servers with very good quality. And I think it's not too noisy. Not like an HP Proliant Dl360 G3. I have one of those and it's too noisy. :c

Question, I've got an sr630, running two of the same cpu's you have. Running 2 sticks of 16gb ram. Guide says install into slot 5 and 17. Deployment was performed by a 3rd party. Any idea what the impact would be since this was installed in the wrong slot?

If you want to figure out whether it's a battery or supercapacitor, just stick a nail through. The smell will tell you what it was =)
