My guess is that the scene where Link finds out he became a Deku would have had Skull Kid wearing the child Link mask. But was changed since Skull Kid taking off Majora's Mask would go against the plot.

The randomizer for Majora's Mask actually uses the young Link mask in place of the Kafei mask if you decide to play as Kafei. It also switches actual Kafei with young Link. Didn't know the Link mask already existed, just assumed it was made for the randomizer
