MEYBAHAR EVENINGS – HAIG YAZDJIAN (AM) & YANN KEERIM (GR)

The Meybahar band's special all night long musical program, who they feel honored to invite their musician friends all around the world. In that night Haig Yazdjian with his voice and oud, and Yann Keerim on piano were our guests. That was a fully energy night for everybody, especially music lovers of the East, Armenian and Greek.
The program was organized by Meybahar and supported by Fonó Budai Zeneház
MEYBAHAR (GR/HU)
The music of Meybahar explores and resonates hidden places of our soul, trough a music fusion that travels deep inside the music cultures of the Aegean Sea and the Middle East.
Meybahar were born with the duet of Marilia Pilti (GR) santouri (cousin of Hungarian cimbalom) and Márton Kopcsik (HU), violin player with his own custom made instrument: a 5 string viola with sympathetic strings. When her santouri and his violin meets on the stage it creates magic atmosphere which drives you on undiscovered lands. The pulsation of the music supported by David Krolikowski (HU) on percussion, Merse Varga (HU) on doholla, frame drums & Péter Takács (HU) on tabla: a unique fusion of drum sound expressions, the Middle Eastern fingering technique and the Indian rhythm heritage.
