I love the Rome 2 theme. its clealry inspired by the soundtracks of old school sword and sandal movies and Biblical movies from the 60s and the 70s. Stuff like Spartacus or the Ten Commandments. Music that is meant to capture the grandeur and mystery of Ancient Civilizations

As a Composer, Richard Beddow did a masterpiece with the music for Rome Total war...the man is truly a musical genius.

Say what you want about rome 1 vs rome 2 music, I don't care what you prefer 30:04 is exactly what roman army battle music should sound like.

This music is absolutely amazing. Rome one had very memorable music but I feel like for a video game this music is more fitting. It's very atmospheric and it just draws you in and I can only imagine what the combat in the campaign must feel like when this music is just roaring full steam ahead. I haven't played Rome 2 yet but based on the soundtrack alone I can't wait to get a break from school so I can check it out. What a master piece of music. This soundtrack is absolutely perfect for a total war game.

Sorry for the melancholy, but I just have to let my heart out for a second...In a country where everything is urbanized, listening to this I am transported to a distant world, to the banks of the Oxus in Bactria, the coast of Judaea and the great ports of the ancient world. It allows me to find wonder once more, something adulthood had taken away from me a while ago. Oh what I would give to see the great galleys sail across the Mediterranean once more, packed with grains from Africa, dye from Axum and wine from Gaul; to see the roadways of the ancient empires filled with carts, the cities packed with small taverns and shops. We live in times great for life, but terrible for the mind.

The Rome 1 soundtrack was super fun and energetic. Rome 2’s music is grand and stoic. I think they both fit their own game’s tone perfectly
