This Is It! 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Breaks The Internet

The Toyota Tacoma feels like a true pickup truck from behind the wheel. It's not particularly refined or modern, but it is sturdy, capable, and powerful enough to get the job done. The Tacoma also offers a wide variety of trims to meet various needs. From the Sport and Limited models that favor on-road handling and comfort, to the Off-Road and TRD Pro models that can conquer nearly any trail, the Tacoma offers a little bit of everything. Like most of its competitors, it relies on a four-cylinder engine but offers a V6 option. Most models use an automatic transmission, but a few still offer a six-speed manual. Annual updates have kept the Tacoma current with the latest safety and convenience features, such as automatic emergency braking and Apple CarPlay capability. And the pickup's cabin is designed for maximum utility, with large knobs and buttons and plenty of storage space. Rear seat room is about average for the segment, but the driver's seating position is lower than in most trucks.

Key competitors include the Ford Ranger and recently redesigned Nissan Frontier, along with longtime twin rivals, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. There's also the Jeep Gladiator, which matches the Tacoma for off-road capability but lacks the diverse array of configurations.

What's New for 2023: Two new packages are available on Tacoma SR5 models: SX and Chrome. The SX package can be added to access or double cab versions with the V6 engine. It includes 16-inch black wheels and wheel arches, black side mirrors and badging, and even black lug nuts. The Chrome package is available only on double cab SR5s with the V6. In addition to a leather-trimmed shift knob, it adds chrome to its 18-inch wheels, door handles, exhaust tip, and tailgate lettering. All V6 SR5 models get a standard smart key. The TRD Pro adds Solar Octane as an exclusive color while last year's TRD Pro exclusive — Electric Lime — is now offered on TRD Sport and Off-Road models.

One thing the Tacoma has always had over all the others, other than reliability and resale value, is its looks. There is no better looking midsize truck and it looks like it will keep its title if this is what it'll look like

Love it, my 2010 trd still runs like a champ and looks great. I would most definitely buy another one one day.

I think the Tundra should take on the styling cues from the Tacoma rather than the other way around. The Tacoma has ALWAYS looked way better than the Tundra.

Great looking truck! I hope the new engine is as reliable as the trusty 4.0L, I have my doubts, which leads me to wait a couple years before I embark on a $50k+ regrettable decision. I’ll keep my 4.0L for now.

I hope they keep the v6 and not downgrade to a 4 cylinder

Glad I got my 2023 TRD-OR before it sells out. Looks better IMO.

No doubt I would buy one of those if I didn't need a bigger truck for work. Love the new design. The Tacoma has better competition than before with the new Colorado and Ranger so they needed to do something and what they did looks great!

I am a fan, I have a 15 TRD Sport. But I honestly hate to wonder what these are going to cost. Especially with all the hype.

Dude it looks so good. I just bought a white 2014 V6 Tacoma with all blacked out logos and a 6 inch lift. I love that this new one looks more similar to the 2012-2015 generation. Makes me feel so good about what i bought dude. These trucks are so amazing no doubt. 😀

Don't really care about the looks, more interested in how the new turbo four banger will do (I prefer a V-6) and what changes/updates to the chassis will be like ie: a new multi-link rear end instead of the old leaf springs? Disk brakes on the rear? Currently driving my third Toyota, all have been manual transmission, so I'm relieved to hear there will continue to be a manual transmission option.

Soon as you said 4cyl turbo I knew I made the right choice by getting a 2023 and not waiting. My 2023 value will hold up nicely for years to come

Sounds like I better start looking for a 2023 with a V6

If they surprise everyone, and it ends up having an available V6, these things will sell like crazy! 🤘🏼
