Just got one (GH Hybrid Max Limited) a few days ago and already took a decent road trip, family loved it, me too. Only complaint is there is an issue with the actual fuel capacity Toyota is advertising 17.2 gallons, and about 450ish range. You can only fill it about 10 gallons near empty and range is about 370ish. Do some internet searches before you buy if this is a concern, and it should be since it means less range and more trips to the gas station. Also, it’s a major feature and Toyota has not remedied it or even addressed it yet, but many hybrid owners are experiencing this.

No issues with a loud whiny engine as some have assumed it would be, in fact, it’s very quiet and when I needed to punch it, it punched! It’s perfect for a family vehicle, and everyday normal driving use. It’s not a race car, but I bet I can smoke a lot out there on the roads, at least for a short distance if were so inclined. I’ve already had to do some evasive maneuvers and really punch it to get passed some wild drivers on the road and it handled very well.

It is a little clunky on shifting I’ve noticed on the lower speeds and take off.

Mpgs keep going up more in drive it, at about 1K miles I’m about at 24.5mpgs.

For us, the decision to have the extra space in 2nd and third row seating was crucial and so happy with it. Also, pretty much all the major features I want on the GH are here, and on a vehicle about 10k to 30k more for luxury class you can get the same, but not that space. Is this vehicle luxury, no, but it’s comfortable, has great utility and technology wise, has everything we want . It also has an amazing lane keeping assist, they’ve really improved this feature!

I have a 2018 Highlander Platinum and it is the best vehicle I've ever owned, hands down! I love everything about it. The heated and cooled seats in both the front and second row, panoramic sunroof and so much more. It's just so beautiful In general and I will definitely be upgrading to another Highlander whenever I'm ready

Odds are dealers will want thousands extra for the hybrid and the wait will be long, as in a year or so, and ordering will not be allowed, instead a deposit will get you on a waiting list to buy whatever the dealer is allocated. That's how it is right now for the Sienna and Highlander Hybrids.

Honda and Toyotas are both great vehicles however the Pilot looks just as good and has very good features, excellent reliability, and high resale like the Toyota Highlander and it cost less. It’s a better value in my opinion.

Was originally going to choose the Pilot due to its roominess. However after talking to a friend who is a Cert Honda tech. He told me of the issues and flaws with it. 1) Even with the Pilot's new motor, it still has a timing belt. 2) The Brake Caliper location is a Honda flawed design which eats up brake rotors. Honda knows this and still does not want to make it a recall. 3) The battery location on the new Pilot is directly below the front intake duct. Which means you will have to disassemble the whole intake ducts just to remove the battery.

I was so glad that my friend told me about this. So now, going to be looking at the Toyota GH. I'm just wondering if I should wait to see if Toyota will release a special edition such as XSE, Black Edition or something.

my family just got one, its amazing. we got the hybrid limited in blueprint, so sadly not the top amount of power but it still is really quick

The only thing keeping me from getting this is that it's not offroad capable, at this time. If they came out with a trim that is off road capable (or even somewhat like an inch higher off the ground etc) then that would be perfect

Honda claimed the new Pilot had the best interior volume in its class. However when we looked at one it was obvious that when it came to usable passenger and cargo space, it did not, and my tape measure proved it. Right now the Traverse is the roomiest by a significant margin. Will be interesting to see if Toyota is more honest.

I currently have a Pilot Elite 2021 for the family car and the grand highlander looks pretty tempting
