You kids have no idea how edgy, rare and great all the Donovan concerts were, he was a BIG deal, but non-commercial, this song WAS on the radio but the rest of his material was well "you had to be there" much later it was used in the film you note.

1967, I was about six years old and Mellow Yellow was playing on the radio and continued to be played for years after that. What a voice. I used to watch Dark Shadows when I was a kid as well. I haven't seen this movie, but the imagery is intriguing. Everything old is new again.

Been a big Donovan fan since first hearing his albums my older cooler sister brought home. Was 8 years old at the time. Hearing this, Atlantis, and Hurdy Gurdy Man, takes me back to my sisters psychedelic bedroom where she fixed it up to make it look like it was snowing in the room. Flickering seven up can, black light, it all comes flashing back with this tune. Later, I used this tune on a mood tape I utilized while engaging in a 6 hour session in a flotation tank. No mind altering substances, just your mind taking you on an incredible journey in the absence of outside stimulus.

I never thought of myself as a Donovan fan but after years of doing open mics, Donovan songs get pulled into my repertoire as they are so atmospheric and lyrically great

Saw him in Glasgow, his home town in the 80s. He was excellent 👍🏻

Donovan had a boxed set of 3 albums called "A Gift from a Flower to a Garden". It was a phenomenal set with many of his hits. It wasn't a greatest hits collection. The songs were released as singles over time and became hits. "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" is one of my favorites.

This song was prescient of the hippie excesses as the 70s started.

I watched the entirety of the soap opera before watching the Depp film and I had very low expectations. Instead, the movie turned out to be fantastic! It was as faithful an adaptation as could reasonably expected. The entire cast was great, the script was great, it looked great on camera and the soundtrack was period perfect! This inspired music video does a wonderful job of capturing all of that, very nice work all around!

I inherited an original "Fairytale" album in the 60's and became a huge Donovan fan then ... saw him in concert in Vancouver way back when too. Johnny Depp was about 3 years old when this song was released ... LOL!
