How to rename timeline in Premiere Pro

Most of the time I don't change the timeline name which is same as your sequence name and also same as your first clip's name. However, if you open more than two projects or timelines, then things can soon become confusing and complicated. So, sometimes you got to change the timeline name. It can be easily done by right clicking on the timeline name and then clicking on "reveal sequence in project", then premiere pro will take you to the project panel and highlight the sequence. Then, simply click on the left side of the sequence name and then you could easily type any name you want. This will in turn change the name of the timeline itself. Therefore, now you could easily distinguish between various projects and timelines.

*If you think Premiere Pro should add a rename option when you right click on the sequence name in the timeline - like this comment!*

I have never been able to figure this out before. THANK YOU! Even after years of using Premiere, I still have so much to learn. Now my sequences won't be named a bunch of random numbers and letters lmao.

This was helpful, thank you, but this video really only needed to be 20 seconds long. Way too much nonsense at the beginning.

Hey Mr. Bhupinder - great video, thanks for posting :) but one issue i'm having now, is that i have already imported some nested sequences into my project - when i rename the seqence files as guided by you, they do not update in the project (only as an individual sequence)... They're not off-line, but i have so many files with similar names and i need to trash the older ones, but so worried to trash the wrong one cuz the name didn't update. Does that make sense? i just realized that altho the title of sequence has changed, the actual file in the timelline still has the old title 😫😫 THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE A BIT OF SENSE!!

Nothing. Doesnt work. I right clicked and chose SHOW IN PROJECT and it jumps focus to the project panel but cannot find the sequence. Its more like an invisible sequence. It has all my clips in different order etc jumbled. My 2nd seq is also active on the timeline and that has my properly cooked seq. So i wanna delete this and it cannot locate where the F this sequence is. But when i click on clips used can see the clips are used in 2 sequences and selecting that makes this strange seq to open up on the timeline too. Cant ever get rid of this sequence ?

How do I change the title of my new Subsequence WITHOUT using the mouse? I want to be able to 1) make a subsequence using just shortcut keys [ Shift + U ] then 2) Go to the Project Panel [Shift + 1] then 3) Clikc on that Subsequence [Down arrow key] then 4) Edit the title of that specific subsequence without using my mouse to click it and then 5) Go back to the timeline to continue editing on my sequence [Shift+3]. I know how to do all of the above steps MINUS Step 3. How do I change the title of my new Subsequence WITHOUT using the mouse at all?
