This is the best and most haunting version of "Weile Weile Weile" (starving babies cry) the children's nursey rhyme. A song passed down though generations about the necessity of infanticide during An Gorta Mór.

This is what the British did in Ireland. Made us dark people.

A hole in the ground brought me here. Such a sad song, but I can't help loving this version!

I'm not Irish but this song gave me chills when I discovered it. Her voice is so melodic and haunting, it has an ethereal and folklore feeling in it! And the lyrics are so so good.

I could see an old lady singing it down by the river in the medieval times. So so good

This is a great version, the tempo / speed adds a creepiness that adds to the song. Thank you for making this version available.

This world is more full of weeping then you’ll ever understand. Come away human child. They’re anxious in their sleep.

I learned this when I was about 8 in school I never realized how dark it was until I was a teenager 😂 to me it was just a song when I was younger I never really paid attention to the lyrics
