Today we are doing things a little differently. We are looking at the best San Martin I've seen yet. The SN007-G-JS... Also known as the 62 Mas Chronograph. A semi-original design that takes its cues from the Seiko 62mas, but incorporates that into an affordable mechanical chronograph. All thanks to the Seagull ST1901 movement.

Before you go, let me know what you think about the format of this video. For this one, I just focused on "The Bad, The Good, and Just OK" of the watch, rather than go into everything.

Also one correction. The watch at 5:02 is not a Dan Henry. I forgot to change the template. It's a San martin SN013-G.

I really like this watch, I kind of wish they included a display caseback though. That st1901 movement isn't bad on the eyes and it is always fun to show friends a working mechanical chrono movement with no rotor to obstruct it.

I like the format, and the looks of the watch, thanks again!

I just bought this watch last week.
It’s fantastic 👍👍👍

I think this new Chronograph marks a turning point for an already impressive brand. The build quality is excellent. This 62mas Chrono is an absolute hit for San Martin. 🤟🏻

Love the way you display the watches with different straps. Nice!

I love this watch, I have quite a few San Martins, and for me this is their best so far, it really does have that go anywhere do anything appeal (apart from diving, but I'm too lazy for that anyway). You could wear this as a daytime casual/sports watch, and through to the evening as a dress watch and it wouldn't look out of place anywhere.

San Martin is the best affordable watch company ever. I just adore them.

These are the ‘Homages’ that I buy…. Homage with a dash of Originality… Or something that’s a homage to a watch that is not to be had anymore. San Martin does a great job and I’ll be adding this one to the three I already own. Thanks for the great review Shane!

Stunning looking watch. But with a St1901 movement, and only 100 m water resistance, why not an open case back? It's a great looking movement, it would be nice to look at. Great review as always Shane. The new format is great, all point one might be interested in are covered, so if you want to mix things up that's great. Macro shots are always stunning too. Keep up the great work.

Very good, that's what a homage should be: something already done but with an interesting new addition to make ot different. Bonus points if the basic style was discontinued or is generally impossible to get. I agree with your points on the dive style and bezel, for instance.

Nice and very detailed review, like always, Thanks for that! I really like that you address the issue of male endlinks! I got an 8.5 inch wirst, so I like "bigger" watches. But a lug to lug around 50 and mal endlinks...I always feel to adjust myself to the watch - and I don´t like that! The watch I wear has to serve me with its spedifications ! So, great vid, go on 👍

I have this and absolutely love it. It's become my favourite watch. I've only got a 16cm wrist but it fits perfectly on the bracelet. I love it on the bracelet. As for the height.. Seikos are 15 to 16mm in height and it at no time feels top heavy. The one thing I was bothered with is if it would keep accurate time but as it's running at 3 seconds a day I'm very happy.

Nice watch, great review, maybe if San Martin had gone with a motor sport theme where a Chrono would make more sense

Very nice looking watch and great review once again. All three of the San Martin watches I have are very well made and wear great. As for this visor format it was fine and provided all I would need to know in a short time frame...probably shorter time for you to produce which could be a good thing. I suggest you use whichever format you want for a given review although on some watches I like the long review. Thanks again.

I'm not a huge fan of chronographs as I find them too busy, but I do like this one as it's a lot cleaner in appearance

Great review of a good looking watch 👍 (although I prefer your usual format) The crown issue makes me realise how clever the Vostok wobbly crown is, on hand wound Vostoks you can fully wind the spring and then still screw in the crown. As Amphibias were originally hand wound it makes me wonder if this issue was the real reason for the design 🤔
