So this is officially my first Switch game! I went out and bought my own Switch alongside this copy on the day of release as an early Christmas present for myself but I didn't get to properly play it until much later due to lots of video deadlines. Fortunately and unfortunately I noticed a lot of other channels had already posted full gameplay videos through pirated copies only seconds after the release date, so I felt no rush to complete this game.

Playing through it has been a blast both for me and my fiancee who has never been a gamer before. One of the best features about Mario Wonder is being able to play as all sorts of characters, as well as any Yoshi character that's invulnerable to being killed (aside from fall deaths). This basically allows anybody, even young kids, to play through most of the stages despite being experienced with games. It can be an excellent introduction game to many.

In this video I complete the entire game and collect all of the Wonder Seeds using Mario as character. I also make the effort to show all of the Purple Coins for each stage as I run through them. Only the "Climb to the Beat" stage was played once for just the Purple Coins and once more for completion. Whilst I've seen other videos do both in the same run, I'm heavily suspicious that it's done so with certain cheats considering the videos I've seen on this are done with pirated copies. I'm fairly certain that the only way of doing both at the same time is by using the Fast Dash badge which isn't unlocked until later in the game. So, don't beat yourself up over it.

Once you've collected all Wonder Seeds, All Purple Coins and touched the top of the Flagpole for each stage, you get to unlocked the Final Final stage which is basically the typical gauntlet stage that all newer Mario games have and it's HARD. I took about two hours here. I've seen many other people struggle less, but I've also seen some people being stuck for days. Not to sound discouraging though, as I can tell you that a lot of it comes down to muscle memory and you'll notice yourself getting a little further with each attempt. One tip to get through the flame area in the second section is by having a powerup ready so you can tank through it. For the invisibility section I drew a line on my monitor to see where Mario is as he's usually centered in the screen lol. His vertical position might change, but his horizontal one is always center except during the beginning of the stage.

Lastly, this video required me to make some edits as it obviously wasn't played flawlessly. I made sure to beat all stages without using checkpoints (except for the Final Final stage) but you will often notice edits made during the first second of a stage. I tried to do so in the least invasive way possible, but it's not perfect. I later realized there are TAS tools for this game but I didn't want to get into that modding territory. This is as good as it's gonna get, enjoy!

I love this game so much. I’m still playing it so I’ll only watch up until the world I’m on but WOW, what a game. I say that and I haven’t really been interested in any Nintendo IP since the n64 days. This one really hooked me. It’s super creative yet still has that same tried and true platformer formula of the last 40 years. You could transport someone from 1985 who’s only used to Super Mario Bros and they’d get the hang of it super quickly. That is after their face got melted off by the visuals 😂

Peach: Floating in the air (Like in Super Mario Bros. 2 for the NES)
